A few new hints and details may have been released, about the highly anticipated finale of Game of Thrones.
According to Variety, the chief of HBO, Richard Plepler, shared the bites of information at the Golden Globes after-party. During the festivities, Plepler revealed that he has seen the rough cuts of the final six episodes of Game of Thrones.
“It’s a spectacle,” he gushed. “The guys have done six movies. The reaction I had while watching them was, ‘I’m watching a movie’.” Plepler then went on to praise the work done be showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. “They knew the bar was high,” he said. “They’ve exceeded the bar. I’ve watched them twice without any CGI and I’m in awe. Everybody’s in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”
HBO debuted the first look at footage from the new season, in a sizzle reel for their upcoming content. This final season of Thrones will be shorter than past seasons. However, these final episodes are rumored to be close to 90 minutes in length, which would put them about the length of feature films. No official date has been given on the premiere of the final season.
