“Watermelon Sugar,” from his current album Fine Line, has jumped from #16 to #8 on the chart, giving the former One Direction member his third solo top 10 hit. He previously scored with “Sign of the Times,” from 2017, and “Adore You,” back in April.
Harry is now the One Direction member with the most solo top 10s, passing ZAYN, who has two: 2016’s “Pillowtalk” and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker),” his duet with Harry’s ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Liam Payne has scored one top 10: 2017’s “Strip That Down,” co-written by Ed Sheeran. Niall Horan‘s “Slow Hands” just missed the top 10 in 2017, reaching #11.
Chart-wise, Louis Tomlinson has reached #40 with “Back to You,” a collab with Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals.
One Direction as a group scored six top 10 hits overall.
And here’s a fun fact: “Watermelon Sugar” is now the highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 song with “watermelon” in the title. It beats out a song called “Watermelon Man,” which hit the top 10 in 1963.
