‘Game Of Thrones’ Hodor Actor Wasn’t Crazy About Ed Sheeran Cameo
Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on ‘Game of Thrones,’ revealed that he was not a huge fan of the Ed Sheeran cameo on the show.

Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on Game of Thrones, wasn’t crazy about the Ed Sheeran cameo on the show.
Sheeran showed up in season 7 sitting and singing with a group of soldiers. Arya passes by them on a horse, commenting, “It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before”. He then responds with his single line, “It’s a new one”.
According to NME, Nairn said:
“I’m not a fan of the cameos in Game of Thrones. I don’t like them, I think it’s stupid. I don’t mind going on the record on that. It takes you right out of the world. Especially Ed Sheeran. I was like, ‘Why is Ed Sheeran here?’ I mean, Ed Sheeran’s great. He’s a great guy, great musician, but why is he in Game of Thrones?”

He quickly pointed out that he is a fan of the “Shape of You” singer, just not as a cameo on the show.
“I think most people would agree with me there. It was a big snap to reality. It’s like, ‘What? What?’ It’s a fantasy show,” he added. “We’re all caught in this amazing world and spend so much time and money and talent to create, and all of a sudden there’s a pop star? What?”
There have been quite a few musician cameos on Game of Thrones. Notably, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Snow Patrol, Bastille, Mastodon and Of Monsters and Men have been on.
