First Reactions To ‘Lion King’ Describe It As A “Visual Masterpiece”

First screenings of Disney’s live-action ‘Lion King’ have debuted, with critics already praising the visuals and spectacle of the new movie.

Critics have begun to release high praise for the new Disney live-action Lion King movie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Tuesday night special premiere left audiences in love with the new film. The first screening of The Lion King brought forth a wave of positive reactions from the press. The Wrap‘s Beatrice Verhoeven, described the movie as a “visual masterpiece that will leave you smiling and crying the whole time.” Additionally, Mike Ryan of UPROXX praised the film. “I think (I think) it’s the most beautiful effects movie I’ve seen,” he shared on Twitter. “Like next level, the game has changed kind of thing.”

The Lion King is set to release for all audiences on June 19. The Lion King, marks director Jon Favreau’s second photo-realistic CGI retelling of a Disney classic.
