Get your high school grad ready for college!

According to our partners at KCRA3, all West Sacramento Seniors will receive a college acceptance letter to Sac City, even if they didn’t apply! This will be for the Washington Unified School district graduates through a “first-of-its-kind program,” making it the Nations first program that accepts everyone into college!
Here are 3 things that we know about the program:
- The program is designed for students who attended River City High School or any student in the Washington Unified School District. Students will start receiving their acceptance letter this week, offering them guaranteed admission to Sac City, even if they did not apply.
- Tuition is free at Sac City, but the city of West Sac will be offering a $200 scholarship to those who enroll. “If everyone of the 800 students took the offer and enrolled in Sacramento City College, it would cost $160,000. Cabaldon said the city has the money to pay for it.”
- There is room for all students that enroll into Sac City. According to Dr. B. J. Snowden, dean of the West Sacramento Center for Sacramento City College, “a real opportunity to turn around any of the negative things that have happened, with them being in isolation and missing the high school graduation.”
This is a GREAT opportunity for all graduated seniors to apply and take some pressure off of what to do next!
