Silent Disco Sundays at Flamingo House

Every Sunday night Flamingo House throws a very fun silent disco event with different DJs each week. It costs $5 for entry, but it is well worth it! There’s 3 different channels, and lots of good vibes!

Find a weekly gathering of food trucks and many mouthwatering options in Marysville! Please use online ordering for a 100% contactless meal ordering experience. Planet or Plastic? Exhibit

When: April 7 – August 7, 2022

Where: California Museum, 1020 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

The “Planet or Plastic?” exhibition examines the global plastic waste crisis and showcases innovators working to solve this urgent issue.

Organized and traveled by the National Geographic Society, the national touring exhibition raises awareness of the plastics crisis and provides actionable steps visitors can take in their lives to reduce, reuse, recycle, and refuse products with single-use plastic.

The exhibition tells the story behind plastic from its invention just over a century ago to its current mass consumption through 70 profound photographs, powerful infographics and videos.

The California Mermaid Convention

What used to be known as Mermaid Weekend in Sacramento, The California Mermaid Convention has been around for 8 years! There’s lots of fun activities such as group swims in tails, panels/lectures from professional mermaids, a costumed ball, and so much more!

No Stigma No Shame Festival

When: Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12:00PM – 5:00PM

Where: Cesar Chavez Plaza, 910 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

MH First is curating a diverse and inclusive space for the community to come together and start erasing the stigma and shame surrounding mental health. Together they will empower local healers and community members to explore mental health topics, awareness, and resources.

This event includes legendary and local artists to perform top hits and healing centered music, community to healing resources, and local and mouth-watering food vendors to promote healing from within.

18th Annual International Kids Festival

Native Plants Day at the Koobs Nature Area

The Koobs Nature Area welcomes kids and families out for their monthly public open days. June’s theme is native plants – you can learn about plants that belong in the Sacramento region, like valley oaks, cottonwoods, milkweed. You can also explore the nature preserve.

Sacramento Juneteenth Festival

This year’s festival will host the Friday night Gospel Under the Stars concert, Juneteenth parade, arts/educational theater, health/wellness row, two stages of live entertainment, fashion show, talent show, food/ware vendors, and much more!

Curtis Fest Artisan Fair

Sacramento Rainbow Festival & Street Fair 2022

When: Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 12:00PM – 7:00PM

Where: Midtown area

Celebrate the end of Summer in Sacramento with the Rainbow Festival held during the Labor Day Weekend. Rainbow Festival is an LGBTQ Community Block Party Fundraiser held annually at the intersection of 20th and K streets in Midtown Sacramento, Labor Day Weekend. Rainbow Festival brings top notch live entertainment and street vendors together for a celebration of Sacramento’s GLBT Community.

The celebration includes music, festivities, booths, performances, and more. The success of the Rainbow Festival is due largely to an atmosphere of merriment and revelry. Events are held across several stages and the festival features over over 100 informational and vendor booths.

Crawdad and Catfish Festival

When: September 10 & 11, 2022 from 11:00AM – 8:00PM

Where: Southside Park, 2115 6th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

Enjoy the best food and music festival west of the Mississippi at the Crawfish and Catfish Festival. There will be 30 gourmet food vendors and 18 bands, including genres such as Cajun, Zydeco, blues, brass, and funk. This event also includes a kids zone, sportsman’s paradise, crawfish races, car shows, fishing pond, vendors, and more!

Come hungry, there will be a wide variety of foods available such as crawfish, catfish, alligator, frog legs, gumbos, jambalaya, crawfish bisque, Cajun corn dogs, red beans and rice, Southern BBQ, beignets, king cakes, New Orleans sno-balls, two bars with specialty drinks and more! Bring a lawn chair, dancing shoes, and a big appetite.

Farm-To-Fork-Festival

When: September 23-24, 2022

Where: Sacramento Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814

The harvest season’s most anticipated music and food festival will return to Sacramento’s Capitol Mall on September 23-24, 2022. Top music artists will headline the festival’s two-day concert series, and visitors will find local food, regional wines, craft beer, cooking demonstrations and much more. The festival is admission-free.

Further information regarding this year’s festival will be posted in the summer. The vendor application will be live beginning June 15, 2022.

28th Folsom Renaissance Faire

When: September 25 & 26, 2022

Where: 403 Stafford St, Folsom, CA 95630

There will be full armored combat between knights, ancient music, culinary delicacies, dance craft demonstrations, and comedy. Magic and contortionist shows, swashbucklers, pirates, fairies (seen only by children). There will also be archery and fencing as well as activities for children: games, crafts, puppet shows and storytelling. It is highly encouraged to dress up in your finest time-traveling attire.
