A collaboration between Ellie Goulding, Martin Garrix, and David Guetta is no more, but the reason why is complicated…

Billboard has reported that a Martin Garrix and David Guetta song named “So Far Away” is almost ready to be released, but not with their originally planned singer.

Ellie Goulding was supposed to sing lead vocals on the track, but she was replaced last minute with two other singers.

When fans asked why, Garrix revealed on Twitter that Goulding didn’t want to release it anymore.

However, she fired back herself, saying:

“’She didn’t want to release it’ is completely untrue and unfair. I love the song!”

The track, with Ellie’s vocals included, had already debuted during Garrix’s set at Tomorrowland 2017, prompting further confusion.

While Goulding blamed her replacement on her record label and management team, but no one is still quite sure what happened…
