If you’re heading out-of-town for the holidays and live in Elk Grove, the wonderful folks over at the Elk Grove Police Department are offering FREE “vacation checks” for your home while you’re gone!

The Elk Grove Police Department posted the following on their Facebook page:

Going vacation soon? Would you like to have someone check on your house while you are away? The Elk Grove Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), in partnership with EGPD, provide a Residential Vacation Check program for Elk Grove residents.

Before going on vacation, residents may submit a Residential Vacation Check application. While residents are on vacation, the VIPS patrol will visit registered houses in a marked vehicle, checking front and back yards, windows, and doors.
