Mattel is honoring women by launching two new lines for International Women’s Day (Mar. 8).
The first series, “Inspiring Women,” celebrates influential women in history. It includes artist Frida Kahlo, aviator Amelia Earhart, and mathematician Katherine Johnson. The recent film Hidden Figures shed light on Johnson’s story.
Mattel plans to mass produce the dolls, reports the Huffington Post. However, there’s no news yet on the release date. The company said that each doll includes information about the woman depicted.
Along with the Inspiring Women line, Mattel is also producing a “Shero” line. It honors 14 modern-day women role models around the world. Gold-medalist Chloe Kim, and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will appear in this line.
The Shero line likely won’t be mass produced, but some of the more popular dolls have ended up in stores before. So keep your eyes peeled!
