We talked about it when they announced that this current season will be their last for the show “Fixer Upper” and also that they are expecting a new baby) and we hinted that they’ll probably be moving onto another show, but we didn’t realize a couple things. 1, that it would be this soon, and 2, that it will be on the same channel.
The new show will also be called “Fixer Upper,” but there are a couple more words tagged onto the end: “Behind the Design.” It’s a new show that will revisit previous homes, and Joanna will be going over her designs and decorations. The final episode of this season of “Fixer Upper” will air on April 3rd, and the first episode of the new show “Fixer Upper: Behind the Design” will start right away on April 10th. The plan is that they’ll show an old episode of “Fixer Upper,” and then following that episode they’ll air the “Behind the Design” episode that looks into the style of the project they just worked on.
There will be 15 episodes, and they’re going to be 30 minutes each. Joanna says “I can’t wait to show our fans how every piece of the design comes together before the final reveal… I want to nail every detail so that, when we walk away, Chip and I know we’ve given a family the one-of-a-kind home of their dreams.” The show will follow Joanna through the design process, down to how she picks decorations and paint colors. Chip will be a part of it too, though it seems that it’s following a bit more of Joanna’s work through the process. I guess we’ll see when it airs. Setting our DVRs as soon as we can. Check out some more info on the show here. Are you excited to see more of the design process in the new show?
