It was a quick trip, too. He was here over the weekend filming for his new show (with possibly one of the longest titles ever) “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours To Hell & Back.” He landed in Sac on Friday, and left Saturday, truly a 24-hour fix. The film crew was here from Tuesday to Sunday.

The restaurant he “took over” is Sandra Dee’s Bar-B-Que & Seafood down on 15th and F. Gordon applied his magic to do a fast revamp of not only the food and service, but the overall appearance of the restaurant too. The restaurant was doing really well for a while, but as food taste and trends change, and with the opening of other spots, business was declining. They have been focussing on events and catering most.

Gordon swooped in and completely changed everything. He said that catering should be the “cherry on top,” but not the primary focus. Hopefully business will begin booming again for the spot, and likely will after the episode airs next summer. Check out some more details here.
