Though I’d hardly say these people are ‘ugly,’ celebrities are posting ugly selfies that show them as their ‘true self.’

The trend is being called “ugly,” that’s not us saying that. Though I’d hardly say these people are “ugly,” celebrities are posting ugly selfies that show them as their “true self.” Whether it’s a funny face, no makeup, bad hair day, whatever. Chrissy Teigen is being named as basically the Queen, since she’s been posting picture like this for a while, before it was ever a trend. She’s always posting “real” pictures and making fun of herself when she can.
Obviously we don’t condone calling people ugly, and while we think there could have been a better name for the trend, we do understand that it was named in irony. Making a funny face or taking a selfie without makeup most certainly doesn’t make anyone “ugly,” but we’re happy to see celebrities at least not “done-up” by their makeup artists like they’re always fresh off the set of a photoshoot.
