Yahoo! Finance created this map with the data from Match.com to show just how much the average date costs in every U.S. state. According to their map, the cost of an average date consisting of dinner for two, a bottle of wine and two movie tickets can cost about $102.32 in the U.S. In the state of California it cost A LOT more, like double for a date. The average cost for a date night in California will cost you $226.35, making it one of the most expensive states to date in – see the top 5 below! 

Most expensive states to date in: 

  1. New York — $297.27
  2. New Jersey — $259.60
  3. Hawaii — $239.95
  4. Connecticut — $230.34
  5. California — $226.35

South Dakota came in as the least expensive date night, with an average cost of just $38.27! North Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa were also some of the least expensive states for a date night. Check out the chart!
