Citing concern over spikes in Covid-19 cases, Cal-Expo has announced it is officially cancelling it’s 4th of July fireworks show.

According to a news release, organizers said, “due to risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and to save valuable budgetary resources in these financially uncertain times,” they’ve decided to shelve the fireworks.

However, they do have a backup plan, and it sounds pretty cool: they will be adding to its “Food Festival To Go” promotion, which started May 22nd and features “fair food” for take away. July 3rd, Cal Expo says they will offer a special 4th of July menu which includes brisket and apple pie. To find out more about that, click HERE

If you and your family are still looking to celebrate Independence Day with a huge fireworks show, check out the Star Spangled Drive In that’s happening in Folsom on July 3rd. This event will meet social distancing and safe event guidelines. Grab more info, HERE
