Steve Granitz/WireImageBritney Spears wanted to show fans a different side of herself on Monday, choosing to introduce the real Britney in a series of candid snaps as she attempted to change out a broken light bulb.

Instead of peasant tops, fitted shorts and perfectly tousled blonde hair, Spears revealed that she normally dresses in comfy button down plaid shirts, Birkenstocks, jeans and glasses.

Instagram versus Reality,” the Grammy Award-winner wrote on Instagram where she posted three snaps of her proudly sporting her average look. “I wanted to show you what I really look like on a daily basis!!!!”

As it turns out, there’s a reason why Britney fell into a habit of only posting glamour shots on her Insta: She confessed to fans that she is guilty of feeling “insecure when photos are taken of me that I’m not prepared for.”

“I have always put so much effort into my appearance,” Brit continued, noting that she’s found a form of release by sharing her true self with her 26.5 million followers.

“Sometimes it’s nice to not try so hard and pull down your walls every now and then,” she continued. “It takes a lot of strength to do that!!!!”

Britney then shared another little known tidbit about herself: She was a total jock when she was younger.

“Instead of cheerleading I played ball in school and I was the point guard,” Britney revealed, adding that the reason she enjoyed playing that position was because “I called the shots.”

“But dear God we sucked … we only won 3 games each season,” she laughed, and then made her third confession of the day: She was “too short” to change the lightbulb — even with a ladder handy.
