Big Day of Giving 2022

By tsutter on May 4, 2022

You can help your community thrive! After two years that have brought tremendous hardship to so many in the Sacramento region, this year’s Big Day of Giving is an opportunity to rally around the organizations that make our area strong and that need our support. Thank you for being a part of this movement for good. Thank you for taking action.

Word-of-mouth is powerful! When you share that you’re supporting local nonprofits during Big Day of Giving, you help those organizations reach new audiences and spread their missions!

  • Auburn Interfaith Food Closet
    • The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet, Inc. was incorporated in November 1998. Currently, there are 17 sponsoring/affiliated churches who collaborate to operate it. The Food Closet is a demonstration of the belief that we have a moral and spiritual obligation to aid residents of our community who are hungry and in need. The types of food they provide follow the USDA food group guidelines. They remain a totally volunteer organization, with over 200 people donating an average of 110 hours a year. Without having costs of staffing, 96% of their expenditures are returned to the community to support client programs.

  • Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM)
    • TEAM is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed to help improve the health, well-being and adoption prospects of shelter animals at Sacramento County’s Bradshaw Animal Shelter. TEAM has been “Teaching Everyone Animals Matter” for 25 years. From the beginning, TEAM has supported the Bradshaw Shelter by funding special veterinary care for shelter animals and by supporting the volunteers and staff who work tirelessly for the animals. TEAM has also made public education about animal issues a top priority, urging the public to “Always spay, always neuter, always ID, always adopt a shelter pet.” This message remains at the heart of TEAM’s work.
