Yesterday, the announcement hit that The Big Bang Theory is ending after the upcoming 12th season. It appears that Jim Parsons may actually be the reason for the show’s finale.
According to PEOPLE, CBS was working to get two more seasons when Parsons decided not to renew. Although it is sad to see the end of the longest-running multi-camera show in TV history, it’s understandable. 12 years is quite a long time.

Parsons has the series to thank for his rise to fame. He also won four Emmys and one Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sheldon.
Neither the actor nor CBS has yet responded to these claims. The final season of The Big Bang Theory airs on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
