Bella Thorne is explaining what she had to endure while she was on set of Freeform’s Famous in Love. For one, there was apparently a lot of bullying.
When the show ended, tabloids went nuts digging into the reason why. Many spread stories that there was bad blood between Marlene King, the showrunner, and Thorne. The actress cleared the air saying that there was no strain on their relationship. However, she did go on to reveal that she was treated badly on set. Some apparently even went on to attack her physical appearance, calling her “ugly”.
According to Thorne, Freeform told outlets that she was a “diva” and “crazy” because “they were scared I was going to go running my mouth if I was upset”. When the LA Times asked who called her ugly, she responded:
“In e-mails, and there was another thing that was in front of everyone on set. After, the cast was texting me, ‘Oh, my God, Bella. I am so sorry. That was so awkward. I feel so bad. Do you want me to come over to your room?’ ‘Oh, my God, I can’t believe they did that.’ It was all supposed to change on Season 2, and it didn’t.”
