No doubt, memes featuring the justifiably adorable “Baby Yoda” have most likely crossed your social media timeline. A character, from the hit Disney+ show The Mandalorian, “Baby Yoda” has captured the hearts of viewers and will now be available in official merchandise for fans to call their very own.
According to People, Disney has officially announced the release of a series of figurines, set for pre-order and release in Spring 2020. One of these toys will reportedly include an 11-inch plush figure, with vinyl head and squishy body, releasing for $24.99. Additionally, Funko Pop! bobble head figurines are also on the way, including a 3.75-inch version going for $12.99 and another $29.99 “supersized” 10-inch version.
The character of “The Child” surprised everyone, with its appearance in the first episode of The Mandalorian and launch of Disney+. The well-kept secret, and uncharacteristic delay of merchandise for Disney, can be attributed to showrunner and creator, Jon Favreau. “I have to thank Disney and LucasFilm,” Favreau commented, “because the way the cat usually gets out of the bag for that stuff is merchandizing and toy catalogs and things like that. So they really backed us up because we really wanted it to be that you had to watch it yourself, so that every time you watched the show, there are new twists and secrets that come out.”
