Who can forget the infamous 2004 Ashlee Simpson Saturday Night Live performance?

In case you forgot, Simpson did an awkward “hoedown” off stage after she was caught lip-syncing, which she later blamed on acid reflux.

The 33-year-old took a step away from the spotlight after the whole debacle, but now she’s making a comeback. She and her husband, Evan Ross, are working on musical projects together. They’re also the subject of a new E! docu-series called ASHLEE+EVAN.

Simpson has certainly moved on from the SNL incident. She admits that she learned a lot from the experience.

“It’s definitely not difficult to talk about… that was a very long time ago,” she told E! News. “It’s something that happened to me and things in life happen to you and they make you stronger and they make you a better performer, a better person. I think things like that build your character and your strength and it’s how you handle them.”
