Ariana Grande pens heartfelt thank you to fans after ‘Positions’ snags multiple #1 debuts on ‘Billboard’ charts
Just one week after dropping her studio album Positions, Ariana Grande was given four reasons to be thankful with four number one debuts on the Billboard charts.
Thanks to her sixth studio album, the 27-year-old pop star snagged the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the top slot on the Billboard Top Album Sales, Billboard Pop Album, and Billboard Streaming Album charts.
The 14-track album was released on October 30 and contained Grande’s previously released lead single “Positions” in addition to collaborations with Doja Cat, The Weeknd, and Ty Dolla $ign.
In response to the chart-topping success, the singer took to social media to share a heartfelt message of appreciation.
“Hello / thank u. i know these things aren’t [very] important on the grand scheme of things but when they do happen i feel it’s important to express gratitude for your love and support !!! so i am indeed rambling today. sry,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, November 8.
“This is my favorite album yet and your response to the music has made my heart so incredibly full, i can’t even begin to fully express how much it means. so thank u. so very much,” she concluded before asking fans which track on the album is their favorite.
Positions is Grande’s fifth number one album on the Billboard 200. Not only that, the Grammy-Award winner made Billboard history by accruing a third number one album in less than two years and three months, which Billboard reports is “the fastest accumulation of three number one proper studio albums ever by a woman” in the last decade.
