Apple has finally acknowledged something that many customers have long suspected: It has slowed down it’s older iPhones.
According to NBC Montana, Apple issued a statement today, December 21st, stating
“it has used software updates to limit the performance of older iPhones that may have battery issues that would cause them to turn off suddenly.”
Customers are obviously angry over the news and believe that Apple is doing this to encourage people to purchase new phones.

If Apple is going to slow down an old phone so the battery can handle it, you should receive several alerts about it. They're coercing people to buy something new, even if they want to pretend that isn't their intention.

Apple has denied this is the case, and claim that the updates are in place to “smooth out peak power demands, and prevent surprise shutdowns and ultimately prolong the lifespan of batteries.”
Let us know what you think about these updates! Will you still be purchasing another iphone?
