‘American Idol’ Drama Already – Katy Perry Constantly Late
Katy Perry has already been causing some drama showing up late to the set of American Idol, and it’s not even on TV yet.

Katy Perry has already said that she can’t be mean on the new American Idol, and now it sounds like she’s constantly late, too.
Some members of the production crew have been saying that Katy always shows up late. Not just 10 minutes late either, we’re talking as much as 25 minutes after call-time. Everyone on the production staff seems to be getting frustrated, but the other judges, Lionel and Luke, they don’t seem to be bothered by the problem at all. Katy has the largest salary out of the bunch too at $25 million – you’d think she could show a little more punctual attendance at that price.
Another problem on set is that, while all the judges get along and have great chemistry on the show, what they’re missing is “comedic tension.” Remember how Simon would always pick on Paula in the early days of Idol? Or like on “The VOice” how Blake and Adam are always going at it? Well, there’s nothing like that happening on the current Idol set. No bickering, no picking, no joking – it’s just business. Higher-ups are starting to think that they may need some of that for an entertaining show. We’ll see.
Idol starts on March 11th, on ABC this year. We’re sure they’ve got something special up their sleeve to hook a new audience, there’s way too much cash tied up in the new “American Idol” for it to just flop right after it launches.
