After staying away from the spotlight following her public breakdown, Amanda Bynes is plotting her return. She bared all in a new interview with Paper Magazine, discussing intimate details of her life.
Although She’s the Man is a comfort movie for many, it was a point of internal conflict for the actress.
“When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for 4-6 months because I didn’t like how I looked when I was a boy,” she admitted. “I’ve never told anyone that.”
Bynes continued to say that seeing herself as a man was “a super strange and out-of-body experience. It just really put me into a funk.”

It also turns out that we do have to credit the 32-year-old a bit for the emergence of Channing Tatum.
“I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in She’s the Man] because he wasn’t famous yet. He’d just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’ But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!'”
Bravo, Amanda Bynes. Bravo.
