What a surprise, the Patriots beat the Rams 13-3 to WIN their sixth Super Bowl, making this game the lowest-scoring Super Bowl game EVER and Tom Brady has the MOST Super Bowl WINS in NFL history!  It’s no secret people did not want to see Maroon 5 headline the Pepsi Halftime Show, even with special guest Big Boi from Outkast and Travis Scott, viewers were “bored” and “disappointed” with the Halftime Show.

From a quick SpongeBob SquarePants cameo/tribute to Adam Levine shirtless moment, I liked Maroon 5’s  Super Bowl Halftime Show. They sang some of their hits like “Girls Like You,” “There Will Be Love,” “Sugar” and “Moves Like Jagger” on an M-shaped stage they used before for some of their videos and concerts. Along with special guest, Travis Scott whose MEGA arrival to the stage in a literal fireball and performed “Sicko Mode” had some fans HELLA hyped leading into Big Boi from Outkast mini moment, who rode on to the field in a black Cadillac convertible and fur coat and quickly sang his hit “I Like the Way You Move.” With all of this, it wasn’t enough to impress the Super Bowl viewers.

I honestly enjoyed their performance (especially Adam Levine’s shirtless tease), now I did expect more special effects, some viewers had worse to say. People took to social media upset calling Maroon 5’s  Super Bowl Halftime Show “boring,”  “disappointing,” and “expected a bigger SpongeBob tribute.” People were even more upset when Maroon 5 teased that “Sweet Victory” from SpongeBob Squarepants would be performed and didn’t follow through with a full performance. With all the Super Bowl backlash received over the past month through now, Adam Levine spoke out after Maroon 5’s halftime performance with a deep post on Instagram giving a shout out to fans and critics:

“We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better.”

When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight. We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love. ❤️ And the list of words is… Forgive Laugh Cry Smile Share Live Endure Embrace Remember Enlighten Preserve Inspire Sweat Fight Express Give Receive Elevate Climb Unify Fortify Soften Dance Scream Dream Educate Provide Inhale Exhale Persevere Stand Kneel Overcome Love Listen
