A toddler from Illinois is finally recovering after a toy makeup kit caused a severe allergic reaction.

According to Fox News, the parents of 3-year-old Lydia Cravens purchased her the kit from a Family Dollar store earlier this month.

However, Lydia quickly began suffering from painful blisters and widespread hives after using it. Her mom explained:

“When she first began reacting, she had severe swelling of the eyes and face. She was very uncomfortable. The only thing we are worried about is Lydia and her getting better right now. Nothing else is important.”

Lydia’s parents also shared the terrifying experience in a viral Facebook post:

Thankfully, Lydia is already doing well on her road to back to good health. Her parents shared an update last Thursday to show her progress:

Her mother described her recovery, saying:

“My baby is not 100 percent at this point. She is improving every day and we are grateful and we pray that she continues to improve. She is just ready to get back to being Lydia.”
