The Team USA You Haven’t Heard Of At The Winter Olympics

There’s a big Team USA presence you never expected at the Olympics, and it’s literally the foundation of a lot of the competitions.

Yes yes, we all know our Team USA is winning golds at the Olympics, but there’s another Team USA that you see in nearly every competition, with every athlete, and nobody is giving them credit.

The snow. Yep, the snow, or rather about 98% of it, is USA-made. “Now, how can that be?”, you ask. Well, there’s fake snow being used in a number of the events in PyeongChang for the 2018 Winter Olympics, and it comes from a company in Michigan. The company is called Snow Makers Inc., and they’re the creators of the snow at the Jeongseon Alpine Center, which is the location of the downhill events.

To get specific, the events using the snow are:
Women’s Slalom Run
Men and Women’s Super-G
Downhill
Men’s Giant Slalom
Alpine Team Event

There are a bunch of others, and you can see them all here. More info on the snow can be seen here.
