Yep, less “Stranger Things” for season 3. They announced it back in November/December that the show was renewed for another season, but this time they’re shorting us some content!

Well, to be honest, it won’t be much shorter. They’re planning on 8 episodes for season 3, which is one less than season 2. But season 1 only had 8 episodes anyway, so really, it’s just back to normal. Some other things we know about the show – it will start filming this April, and it looks like all of the usual characters will be back. We don’t know anything about the plot of the show yet except for the fact that it will jump ahead to the year 1985, and pick up from there. Season 2 was 1984, season 1 was 1983. Simple chronological order it seems. We’re not sure though at what time of the year they’ll pick up from, whether it’ll be right after the New Year, or if they’ll go for the same Halloween timeframe they’ve been using.

1985 is the year of “The Goonies” and “Back to the Future Part 1” though, so we’re excited to see how those play into the show. And remember, there’s a little connection already between “Stranger Things” and “The Goonies” – Sean Astin, who plays Bob Newby in season 2, played Mikey in “The Goonies.” We’re also curious if there will be some reference to that somewhere in the show, just for funsies.

No spoilers here, just some info about the upcoming season 3. Are you a fan of the show? Can’t wait for the new season to hit Netflix?
