Selena Gomez Gets Called Out By Her Mom On Instagram
Selena Gomez is facing backlash for her involvement with Woody Allen in his upcoming film, ‘A Rainy Day.’ Her mom claims she warned Gomez about it, as well.

Selena Gomez was first questioned about working with Woody Allen by Billboard a few months ago. Her answer, at the time, seemed a little vague and evasive.
When asked, she responded:
“To be honest, I’m not sure how to answer — not because I’m trying to back away from it. [The Weinstein allegations] actually happened right after I had started [on the movie]. They popped up in the midst of it. And that’s something, yes, I had to face and discuss. I stepped back and thought, ‘Wow, the universe works in interesting ways.'”
Now that the movie, A Rainy Day in New York, is about to wrap and release, she’s facing more backlash. Part of it is due to the fact that some of her co-stars, Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall, chose to give up their salaries to donate to relevant charities.
Chalamet will donate his salary to TIME’S UP, The LGBT Center in New York, and RAINN.

In light of these gestures by her co-stars, fans have been wondering why Gomez has yet to make a move. They questioned Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, on Instagram, who replied:
“Sorry, No one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn’t click. Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”

Teefey’s comment conveys that Gomez was aware of the Woody Allen allegations before she chose to work with him, as Nylon reports. The accusations made by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow, of child sexual abuse have been circulating for a while. That’s a big reason why she’s facing even more heat.
Many spectate that there’s a falling out happening between Teefey and Gomez. The rift in their relationship first came to light after Gomez reunited with Justin Bieber despite Teefey’s disapproval.
So far, Teefey has not elaborated on her message and Gomez has not responded.
