Shannon Loveless fell on hard times and had no choice but to live in her van with her three kids. She had been camping out behind the Wal Mart off Elk Grove Florin Road. That’s where two Sacramento county cops spotted her making lunch for her kids.

Shannon thought she was going to hit trouble when the officers approached her. However, once the deputies found out that the family had been living out of Shannon’s van for the past four months, the two decided to help. The police officers, Tim Yee and Johnny Le, returned to the family with bags of toys, clothes, and food.

Not only that, but they also set Shannon and her family up at a motel, reports CBS. The cops also made sure to contact social services to help set up the family with permanent housing.
