Post Malone was preparing for the worst when his plane malfunctioned on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The 23-year-old was en route to England from New Jersey on a private plane with 15 other passengers when the tires blew out. The pilot contacted air traffic control officials and circled back to make an emergency landing. Thankfully, they landed safely in New York.

When TMZ caught up with the singer after the whole debacle, he revealed that he sent goodbye texts.

“We were just stuck in the air for so long not knowing,” he said. “I just put [my friends and family] in a big group text to tell them I love them, just in case … This was before anybody knew, I was just like, ‘Hey guys, I love you’ because I didn’t want to f**king freak people out and then me be stuck in the air. I was just trying to think of the possibilities, the outcomes of what could happen.”

Thank goodness he and everyone in the plane made it out safely!
