A parking dispute in New Jersey ended in an actual sword fight.

The fight broke out in Somerset County with one man wielding a sword and using it to attack the other. The other man had a 4-foot contractor’s level to protect himself, reports NJ.com.

Jared Razzano, 35, the swordsman, was taken to the Somerset County jail. Meanwhile, the 40-year-old man who was attacked is hospitalized. He suffered deep cuts to his head and arms, and “also had one of his fingers nearly severed as a result of the assault,” reads the official police statement.

Apparently, the parking dispute occurred near Razzano’s home. The 40-year-old was holding the level when the verbal fight turned physical. The man struck Razzano multiple times with the contractor’s level, leaving him bruised and with abrasions.

That’s when Razzano grabbed the sword from his car. He’s currently being held on accounts of aggravated assault as well as for third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
