The pop-up museum is opening for two months later this year in the capital of selfies, Los Angeles. Because of course it is.

Why did this take so long to exist? The Museum of Selfies will be open in Los Angeles from April 1 to May 31 this year.

First of all, the pop-up isn’t going to be what you’re probably thinking. The exhibit will be educational, looking into human nature and history. Selfies dating all the way back to 400,000 years will be presented. Yes, that means cavemen selfies.

In addition, the museum will be have backdrops (of course). So guests will be able to take selfies with them, reports the Guardian.

The museum said:

“To fully understand the origin of the selfie, the museum offers an educational yet playful approach to providing a lens on human history and art through immersive and interactive installations, while poking a little a fun at itself and human nature.”

Seems like this will be fun. And maybe it’ll become another traveling pop-up like the Museum of Ice Cream!
