A 22-year-old borrowed his mother’s car to take a driving license test. Seems perfectly normal, it’s what most of us had to do too. But the thing is, there were drugs, cash, and a loaded gun in the car along for the ride, too.

It happened in Baltimore. The man brought his mother’s car to the DMV to take the driver’s license test. He made it all the way through the process, and got to the actual driving stage. That’s when the examiner administering the test noticed a smell coming from the car. The examiner flagged down a police officer who was working at the DMV office that day. That’s when the officer began to search the car, and made the discovery. The officer found about a pound of marijuana, somewhere around $15,000 in cash, a loaded handgun, and a scale.

Since the 22-year-old was in the car at the time, well, yeah, he got arrested. BUT, he also has a record that goes back about 3 years. Burglary, other drug charges, and assault. The man’s mother will apparently not be charged with anything. He got some drug trafficking charges, and is out on a $7,500 bond. He didn’t end up taking the driving test or getting his license, obviously. That’s the worst part of his punishment – he’ll have to wait in the DMV line all over again.
