Ed Sheeran is up for a handful of BRIT award nominations, but Dua Lipa might have him beat in a majority of the categories.

Ed Sheeran didn’t get mentioned much during the Grammys except for when we were talking about everything he got snubbed on (no grudge. grr), but he’s doing very well at the BRIT Awards, which is basically the Grammys of the UK. He’s up for a handful of awards, being nominated for British Album of the Year (Divide, of course), British Male Solo Artist, British Single of the Year, and British Artist Video of the Year.

Ed’s getting the recognition he deserves for sure, however, Dua Lipa (New Rules) is up for another handful of awards, but those are in bigger hands, since she’s nominated for an extra one on top of Ed. She’s up for 5 awards total, British Female Artist of the Year, British Breakthrough Artist of the Year, British Single of the Year, British Artist Video of the year, and British Album of the Year (self-titled “Dua Lipa”). She’s currently holding the record for “the most nods ever for a U.K. female solo artist.”

Of course they’re only in direct competition with each other for 3 of the same awards, British Album, Single, and Video. You know, the big ones. The show happens February 21st, and will actually feature a performance by Ed Sheeran. He’s got a busy night ahead of him.
