Disneyland Announces ‘Coco’-Themed Dia de Los Muertos Celebration

Disneyland will be hosting a Dia de los Muertos celebration, featuring themes and characters from the movie ‘Coco’.

Disney announced that their two-month-long Dia de los Muertos celebration will be coming to the Disneyland park in Anaheim this year. The event will also feature themes and characters from the movie, Coco, for guests to experience and enjoy.

According to Popsugar, a wide variety of activities and events will be taking place in the California Adventure park. The Paradise Gardens area of the park will reportedly feature live storytelling, traditional folklórico dancers and mariachi musicians, and delicious Mexican food. A Coco themed event, called “A Musical Celebration of Coco”, will feature a live show with music from the film, including the Oscar-winning song, “Remember Me”. Storytellers will share the story of Coco, will lifelike puppets of the characters join the live performers in singing and dancing.

The celebration will also include an art exhibit, called “The World of Coco”. Here, guests will experience a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite characters and locations from the movie. The exhibit shows the creative process and development of the Land of the Living and Land of the Dead within the film.

In addition to the live music and events celebrating Dia de los Muertos, delicious Mexican food will also be offered at a variety of shops and restaurants throughout the park.
