Disney Unveils First Look At Their New ‘Star Wars’ Streaming Show

The first details about the new ‘Star Wars’ show have been revealed, with the series being called ‘The Mandalorian’, and being directed by a variety of different directors.

The silence has been broken on Disney’s upcoming Star Wars show, that is currently in production for their new streaming service. The first few details about the setting and focus of the show have been released, and fans are speculating over the pieces of information.

According to Buzzfeed, these first announcements were made by Jon Favreau, who is currently heading up the project for Disney’s anticipated streaming service, set to launch next year. Favreau revealed that this new Star Wars show will be titled The Mandalorian. The series will reportedly focus on an all-new gun-slinging character, similar to the classic Star Wars character, Boba Fett. As for when the series is supposed to take place in the Star Wars timeline, the new show will take place between The Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens movies.

Lucasfilm also revealed production details about the upcoming series. Alongside Jon Favreau, numerous people are reportedly being brought in to direct different episodes of the show. Bryce Dallas Howard, from Jurassic World, will be directing an episode, as well as Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

As of now, neither Disney or Lucasfilm has released any information regarding casting for the highly-anticipated show. A release date has yet to be set as well, but the show will be premiering on Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
