‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Sequel In Development Following Box Office Hit

A sequel to Crazy Rich Asians is reportedly already in the works. Not too surprising, considering it hit No. 1 at the box office on its opening weekend!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the next film hasn’t officially been given the green light just yet. However, the studio is moving ahead with development, which is great news!
Crazy Rich Asians is the first adapted screenplay from a trilogy book series by Kevin Kwan. So, as expected, the film’s sequel will also follow the plot line of the second book, China Rich Girlfriend. Film writers Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim will be returning to tackle the script. The original director, Jon M. Chu, is also set to take on the project.

Only time will tell if the entire trilogy makes it to theaters, but if the success of the first is anything to go by, there’s a good chance.
