One Californian Has Died From Romaine Lettuce E. Coli Outbreak
The CDC officially announced that one death in California that’s linked to the romaine lettuce E. coli outbreak that’s spreading.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned to avoid romaine lettuce due to an e. Coli outbreak earlier this year. There has now officially been one death in California linked to the epidemic.
The contaminated lettuce originated from Yuma, Arizona, and has now spread to 25 states. This is one of the largest outbreaks in a decade with 121 cases of e. Coli. 52 of those cases have resulted in hospitalization, according the the CDC report.

There have not been any recalls yet, but the CDC advises avoiding romaine lettuce:
“This advice includes whole heads and hearts of romaine, chopped romaine, baby romaine, organic romaine, and salads and salad mixes containing romaine lettuce. If you do not know if the lettuce in a salad mix is romaine, do not eat it.”
Better safe than sorry!
